About Abbie

I have always had a very keen interest in animals and knew from a very young age that this would be the focus of my career.  If I wasn't rescuing baby bunnies I was attempting to splint the leg of an injured bird so it was inevitable that my career would head this way!

For many years now I have had a passion for riding and enjoy the competitive side of the sport. I previously competed regularly BSJA however in the last year I have taken to eventing a little more so we shall see what the next season has in store!

I have owned a number of horses over the years and have previously enjoyed breaking young horses and schooling. I have recently weaned myself down to just one horse as time has become a little tight!

For a couple of years, I was a committee member for Horsforth Riding Club. I believe it is important to encourage young (and old!) riders into the sport and to provide a fun environment for then to enjoy their horses!

After completing my A levels I decided to undertake a BSc in Equine Science graduating with a 1st class honours. After witnessing the success of McTimoney treatments I decided it was a career I would love to pursue and was thrilled to be accepted to the McTimoney College. After three years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears I graduated with a Masters degree in Animal manipulation!!

I am a member of the MAA (McTimoney Animal Association) and also the BCMA (British Complementary Medical Association). I am fully insured and work closely with vets and all other professionals to achieve the best for the animal.

When I'm not working I love enjoying the outdoors and caring for our menagerie of animals including 2 dogs, 1 horse and a flock of pedigree texel and Ryeland sheep, which needless to say leaves us with little spare time! I enjoy competing my horse and we also do alot of showing with the sheep though the spring/summer months. Tom my husband is a farrier so is very understanding of the time (and money!) consuming horse and also comes in handy when I need to pick his brains about hoof balance or corrective shoeing.

Ruby and Fly!

I cover Yorkshire and Lancashire and am happy to travel for group bookings.
